You must have surely heard about the damage lumber mills are causing to rain forest and subsequently to the wildlife and environment by cutting down trees at such a fast rate that they don't get enough time to grow back. Many greener options are available these days. If you are purchasing new lumber check that they have the FSC symbol. You could also try to use as much recycled timber as possible.
In general, smaller windows are recommended for your garden shed. A smaller window provides additional security and also allows for extra storage space and wall space inside your shed. If you plan to use the shed as a workspace be sure to select a window that can be opened to allow for ventilation of fresh air.
If you have enough space in the garden you can properly hide sheds with a nice fence or line of plants that suit the rest of the garden. By creating a shed area that is out of sight you can also use the area for other unsightly items like the wheel barrow, worm farm, compost heap and fire wood.
