Set a level foundation with stone and cement blocks. When digging a hole in which to set the blocks, leave two to three inches of space to allow for stone. Using crushed stone between the earth and the cement creates a stable base for the block.
After you know the project is financially feasible and you are building within the city or county requirements you are ready to begin construction. All projects begin with laying out the site and building the foundation. The plans will show the size of the shed so you can properly locate the shed foundation. The plans are then used to build the foundation. The next step is to build the shed floor. Refer to the shed construction plans to layout the floor joists or concrete slab properly.
To get regular 3 tab asphalt shingles rated for lower slopes most manufactures recommend installing a waterproof membrane first and then installing the shingles on top of it. These membranes are typically either a self adhering roll material or a mineral surface roll that is essentially the same material as the 3 tab shingles but in a roll form. This "waterproof" layer keeps any water that could be pushed up under the edges of the shingles away from the roof and out of the shed.
